LAURI CHAMBERS was born in Seattle in 1951.  She received her BFA from the University of Washington.  She has received fellowships from Artist Trust, The Behnke Foundation, WESTAF, and a grant from the Pollock-Krasner Foundation.  Her last solo show with Francine Seders Gallery was in September 2002.  Her work has been included in Seattle Perspective - Selections from the City of Seattle % for Art Portable Works Collection at the Washington State Convention and Trade Center (2004), Crossroads, New Art from the Northwest curated by Michael Klein at CoCA (2003). The W.D. Fletcher Collection at Boise Art Museum (2003), and Variations on Abstration at City Space (2003).   Chamber says of her work "Content is revealed by process...to understand my work it must simply be looked at.  I want the encounter to be very, very quiet".
