Wendy Huhn’s work combines meticulous craftsmanship with a dark and somewhat earthy sense of humor. She can surprise and amuse the viewer with her carefully stitched, collaged, and beaded textiles that support a cast of loosely cobbled-together found images in disjointed single-frame narratives.

Wendy Huhn currently lives and works in Southern Oregon. She is a graduate of the University of Oregon (BFA 1980) and is currently on staff as a visiting professor. Her mixed media textiles have been featured in solo shows at the Springfield Museum in Springfield, OR (2001), the Thirteen Moons Gallery in Santa Fe, NM (2000), and the BonaKeane Gallery in Portland, OR (1999). They have been included in such invitational exhibitions as the Quilt National (most recently 2003), Fabric Constructions at the Leedy Voulkos Gallery in Kansas City, MO (2003), and Living Traditions—Contemporary American Quilts at The Textile Museum in Tilburg, The Netherlands (2001).
