Jacqueline Barnett is well known in Seattle as both a painter and printmaker. Her work has been featured in solo and thematic group exhibitions in the area since the mid 1980s.  In the gallery, we have a selection of monotypes and mixed media pieces that provide a chronological overview of her work..   Color and gesture drive Barnett’s expressive abstractions. They have enormous energy and a liveliness that comes from the artist’s willingness to take risks.

Somewhere/somehow:  This is a strange title for a show......but it suggests the ambiguity in all my work.  There is a longing, a desire in my paintings.  Each piece has a somewhere, if only in my consciousness.   The somehow is the mystery of the whole artistic process.
